Topic:
Quiet the Mind to Quiet the Soul
“Overcome
the mistaken belief that thought
streaming, ongoing mental chatter, is
beyond your control. (We shut it down
before we go to sleep and when we read,
jog, putt a golf ball, and pay close
attention to any matter.) Though single,
quick thoughts that pop into our minds are
involuntary, thought streaming is
controllable.
By continuously disengaging from the
fascination of thought streaming, stress
and worry, negativity, self-centeredness,
and overly-strong biases inevitably
dissolve.
As time between thought streams lengthens,
inherent joyousness reappears within a
simpler life. Availability for intimacy
and attention is enhanced making learning,
playing, living and loving more
accessible.”
