Topic:
Grief & Loss in an Age of Terror
To
honor and remember the devastation of
9/11/01, the attacks in Beslan, Russia,
and personal loss, this week’s show is
dedicated to the memories of the
following great beings:
- Dr. Elisabeth Kubler-Ross, 78, died
August 24 in Scottsdale Arizona. “the
Swiss-born Psychiatrist wrote the 1969
bestseller, On Death and Dying. Her
groundbreaking study of the end stages
of life humanized the treatment of the
terminally ill and helped to inspire
the hospice movement in this country.”
(Obit, LA Times, 8/26/04)
- JoAnn Grisham Heroux, 46, died
August 19, 2004, after living with
cancer since 1988. She was the loving
sister of my brother-in-law, Milton
Grisham, husband of my step-sister,
Joanna. My thoughts and prayers go out
to them and their families.
- Rev. Geoffrey Karen Dior, 2/14/67-
8/25/04. Performer, AIDS activist,
philanthropist and friend. My
condolences go out to all of his
family, his partner Brett, his friends
and fans
