Guest:
Sally Fisher
Sally Fisher co-founded Northern Lights
Alternatives, a network of HIV/AIDS
agencies in the mid-eighties to produce
the AIDS Mastery Workshops, which she
created for people impacted by HIV. The
workshops have been done in over thirty
cities and are still going strong.
She also created Taking Care, a series of
workshops to prevent Burnout and to deal
with conflict within organizations and
coalitions.
Fisher has recently established INTERSECT,
a new international organization, which
will look at the ways in which all of the
movements working for a safe and healthy
global future intersect, and how we can
come together around our commonality to
become a powerful strategic force. The
first project of INTERSECT explores the
relationship between HIV and Violence
Against Women.
For the last several years Ms. Fisher has
been intimately involved with V-Day as a
producer of events and Director of the
Worldwide Initiative. Most recently she
has produced V-Day 2001, a gala star
driven performance which centered around
Eve Ensler's play The Vagina Monologues
at Madison Square Garden. She is also
Associate Producer of the play.
Ms. Fisher has written Life Mastery
based on her experiences and workshops and
has released the first two of a series of
audio tapes for Brain sync, Burnout:
Getting Back On Track and
Spirituality: What Works For You. Ms
Fisher is currently working on a new book,
The Quality of Life is not Determined
by the Circumstances but by What we do
with them, which is also the
philosophy underlying all of her work. |
